I informed the 6th grade that there was a contest that I think they would do very well at. The Washington (DC) Calligraphers Guild and the National Association of Letter Carriers sponsors an envelope design contest every year with a different theme. The theme for 2016 is "Communication". The goal is to represent the theme using the address on the envelope that is mailed to the Washington office to be judged. Here is a picture I took of them before I brought them to the post office. The woman at the post office didn't mind the extra work she had to do to read the address because the art was so much fun to look at. Good luck to all the submissions!
