Animation

Movie by the Eamon and Owen.

Free Time Drawing

Miss Rogers made this during free time at the end of class.
There is always something great going on in art class!

Magazine Collage

For the past few weeks the 8th grade class has been working on 3D collages. Using strips from magazines they roll tubes with a pencil then glue the end down. Once they have a good collection of colored tubes they arrange them by size and color to make an interesting design.

Suns with Expression

The second graders continued their work on drawing skills. In class we watched a video on how to draw expressions by changing the mouth, eyes and eyebrows. Then they picked one expression to give their sun. First they used pencil then black marker then last color with crayons. Here we have sleepy, surprised, evil and love.

Here is another animation from art club.

SpongeBob done!!!

7th grade job well done!

I am going to send the submission to the contest this week. I'll post the place to cast your vote when it's available. It starts on the 21st of April. Our final count of milk cartons was 246.

Origami Bat

Thanks George for bringing in the cool bat. I especially love how you made added detail to make it a unique piece of art. Well done!

Cat Drawing

Thanks William for sharing the drawing you did of the kitty. You are a hard worker, I can tell you enjoy drawing.

Drawing Cartoons from Letters

The 2nd grade watched videos on how to make monsters from letters. Here you can see O, B, and C made into monsters. Everyone did a great job. Here is the link to the cartoon lessons.

Butterflies in the Hallway

The butterflies made with coffee filters in K2 are looking great in the hallway. When you walk by the wings move!

Dragonflies

The K2 class followed direction on how to draw a dragonfly. We also discussed the difference between a dragonfly and a damselfly. We had fun with the colors with this one. It's a rainbow dragonfly with kaleidoscope wings.

Art Club (animation)

I am going to post a video from Art Club for the next few weeks. This weeks video is from William. The extra time he spent on the background paid off. I just wish we had more time to make it longer. Maybe next year I'll have the art club run longer for animation.

3D Mondrian

The 3rd grade class made these cool 3D projects in the style of Piet Mondrian.
First they had pieces of cardboard they painted white. Then they glued them together. After they dried they glue black painted coffee stirrers to the top in either horizontal or vertical positions. Then using only primary colors they filled in spaces made. It was like playing "Operation" filling the spaces and not toughing the black lines.

Bunnies Everywhere

The story behind this is the librarian at Tufts asked me if I would like the box of cardboard corner supports she had sitting around. They looked like brown pyramids, but I wanted to try to think of something different to do with them. I took two years, but finally I got an idea. The first and second grade classes made bunnies out of them, grey and brown bunnies. I think they are going to look great hanging up for Easter.

One more week left with SpongeBob

We are in the home stretch with the milk carton project. This is the back of SpongeBob.
Inside is 198 milk cartons. Wednesday the 7th graders will put on his legs, add his clothes and paint his face. Oh, and add the rainbow.
