The 8th grade started this in June back when they were still 7th graders. There are a lot of steps. First each student got a greyscale posterized print of a dog half this size. First they made a drawing twice the size using the grid method onto watercolor paper. Next they picked a color to interpret the greyscale in the values of that color. So if you picked red you would use only black and white to make the dark and light values.
