Alberto Giacometti

The 8th grade had time for one more project before their last day at SHS. Then it's off to HIGH SCHOOL! I hope they take art as an elective. I think they are all ready to do great things in 9th grade.
So for this project the students used pipe cleaners to build a "skeleton" of a figure. Then add thickness with foil and tape. Once the figure looks to be in the right proportions it's painted black. The finishing touch is a dry painting of gold to give it the appearance of metal as Alberto Giacometti's sculptures would look.
