After a discussion about mosaics from Rome Italy and viewing examples the 6th grade class made their own. However we didn't use ceramic or glass tiles like the romans. We used various dried beans.
Each student used a recycled CD case as the frame. A paper with guide lines was placed under the case to help with keeping the design in a proper radial pattern. Each bean was glued with white glue until it was filled in. I can't wait to display them all together.
