It's that time of year when I have a few classes try out weaving. The 4th grade do these mini-weavings. It has embroidery thread wrapped around a piece of cardboard then they add the yarn by weaving under and over using a small plastic needle. This year they got the project done in one 40 minute class. I was impressed.
The 3rd grade are also working on weaving dream catchers. Here they are waiting to have the yarn woven in for next class. The boarders of the circles are decorated with native American symbols. The students used oil pastels for that for a vibrant color.
