Looking Up at Trees
These are our oil pastels.
I use these veggie/dip trays from the dollar store to keep them somewhat separate.
And these are the cool trees the 3rd grade did with them.
Ed Gory Envelope Art Contest
The 5th grade has been working hard on their entries to the Ed Gory envelope contest. This contest is held every year around Halloween time and run by the museum of art by illustrator Ed Gory. His work is spooky black and white pen/ink drawings seen on television, books and broadway. If you are visiting Yarmouth Port this summer check out his museum.
The results of the contest will be announced Oct. 30th. I'll keep you posted. Good Luck Grade 5!!!
K2 Painting
We got out the paints for the first time in the K2 art class. They did a great job with following directions. They continued with patterns by painting patterns on pieces of cardboard that will be snakes and they also painted apple shapes on more cardboard. They will finish them both next week.
Torn Paper Faces
1st grade had a great time making a wide variety of faces using just construction paper and glue sticks. No scissors. It takes lots of imagination and fine motor skills.

They Earned a Pencil!
Congrats to the 4th grade for being the first to fill in the pencil and earn themselves a pencil of their own to take home.
Each class fills in a part of the pencil if they are in line ready for their classroom teacher to take them back downstairs.
Transforming Fish
Oh what a cute little fishy.
But no, look how the 3rd grade transformed their fish into something crazy.
They did a great job following direction with this project.
Dragons
The 3rd grade class learned about mythical creatures and dragons. Then using paper plates they designed their own dragons. Lots of scales and texture was made with markers. I love how they each have their own personality.
